Edible Memories Cookbook
Edible Memories is an ebook collection of 120 Malaysian favorite dishes of yesteryear and today that covers Nyonya, Chinese-Malaysian, Malay and Indonesian cuisines. They are recipes handed-down by the author's grandmothers and aunties who were prodigious cooks that produced amazing meals, whether simple daily ones or for festivities. In the book, the author shares his fondest recollection of watching the dishes being prepared, the clear steps learned from his elders of how to reproduce the dishes, as well as his grandmothers' secrets for a successful result. The recipes have been adapted to today's modern appliances with instructions given for the electric pressure cooker, air fryer, and other appliances to shorten preparation and cooking times.
The book consists of ever-popular recipes: Nasi Lemak Kukus, Sambal Udang/Sotong, Chee Cheong Fun (and sauce), Yeong Taufu (and sauce), Asam Laksa, Achar Awak, Karipop, Keropok, Bakwa, Sate with Pineapple Peanut Sauce, Taro Cake, Chee Pau Kai, Ayam Masak Chili Garam, Gado Gado, Mi Soto Ayam, Otak Otak, Ikan Kuah Lada, Har Lok, Udang Asam, Claypot Chicken Rice, many Nyonya kuehs and cookies, as well as vegetable dishes and 19 popular soups.
